Headline inflation eases further in December; industrial production witnessed sharp uptick in November.
Retail inflation measured in terms of consumer price index (CPI) further moderated to 5.72% YoY in December 2022 from 5.88% in November (5.66% in December 2021). This is the second consecutive month the inflation remained below the Monetary Policy Committee’s upper tolerance band of 6%.
