Digital Rupee (CBDC), a New avatar of the Indian Rupee has been a buzzword among many users since the RBI started a pilot on December 1, 2022. It is an electronic token issued by the RBI, which is the same as a physical rupee. The user needs to register to use the eRupee wallet, which will be present on all digital devices. A user does not need to hold a bank account to use eRupee. However, to recharge the eRupee wallet, they need to link it with their bank accounts.
